IS ALCOHOL A PART OF YOUR LIFESTYLE?

Posted by JACIE ROBLES on

Summer drinks and how to make them healthy! Alcohol is something that can easily make anyone gain weight. If you like to drink and also want to maintain a healthy figure this summer, then here are some great tips and recipes to enjoy a fun cocktail low in calories.

Let’s start with the basics:

Vodka, whiskey and gin (80 proof) contain less than 100 calories for 2 oz of liquor. These are your least caloric alcohols including champagne or prosecco which include less than 100 calories for a 5 oz glass.

When trying to spice up your drink without adding calories try crystal light packets, mio, hydration packets, or aminos (yes, aminos!) to your water and then use it as a mixer for your choice of alcohol! They come in so many flavors so find the flavor of choice and only add 5 calories or less to your alcohol. This is also an easy way to stay hydrated while drinking and will decrease your chances of getting a hangover the next day.

Red bull and vodka helps you stay awake while you enjoy a few drinks but it is known to be dangerous and can increase your sugar intake. A great way to get a pick me up is to add your favorite pre-workout mixed with water and add your liquor into it... Amino Energy lemonade or fruit punch can be an enjoyable flavor mixed with vodka.

However, if you prefer a fruity cocktail or some energy in your drink, then we have some fun drinks for you to try lower in calories.
